So you have proof that the Evony client is malware that turns your PC into a zombie? You have, I suppose, reverse engineered their software and found that (even though virus checkers don't detect any problem) it's actually going to do something nefarious? Because if you have, that's awesome, and if you present your findings to an appopriate authority of law, you'll get the whole lot of them thrown in jail in no time. I mean, software code is incontrovertible proof. They won't have a leg to stand on!

Or is it that you assume they're going to do that on the basis that they are Chinese, but have no proof at all?

I'm not the one in danger of destroying my future financial security for a bunch of opinions about a game I have never played.

If I was I'd probably take the time to make sure what I was saying was actually true.

You never know, it may be important.

There are ways of safely installing games on your PC so they can't do any harm.

 

A computer research guy at an Australian university did everything he needed to do to find out what the two bits of Evony software are doing on people's machines. Then he emailed me all his findings.

Whatever little sympathy you had at the start of the thread has evaporated and I suspect most of us are by now actually cheering Evony on to tear you limb from limb.

I suggest you email back telling him to report them to the police. Hacking is a very serious offence under national and international law. You don't deal with it by writing nasty things about them on a blog. You use force of law. If there is a shred of truth in it, and he can prove it, they'll be shut down inside a week.

If there's not, and it's just another source of unverified and unverifiable claims, well, then, I guess you'll end up defending libel charges - oh, wait.
