Internship for a Comp Sci. student in 3rd year

Hi, I am currently on my 3rd year of a 4 year MEng Computing course at Imperial College. I want to break into the gaming industry but I am finding it difficult to find placements that can accommodate 6 month placements which is what I am looking for at the moment. I emailed SCEE last week but they replied back saying they only consider students looking for a year long placement which I assume is standard for a game industry industrial placement.

Would anyone here know of any companies that would offer a 6 month programming placement?

 

6 months is a weird number of months to be honest.

Rare and Lionhead do Summer Placements. Both of their deadlines are past. You might strike lucky closer to home and ask Rocksteady and Rockstar London.

Your lecturers may or may not be able to help you. Ask them kindly and they might give you some contacts.
