Looks to me like 4 + 5 are the same finger, just with a inappropriatly placed shadow.

But then thats just my view, very similar to the two heads or a vase debate.

 

There is a big discussion about this at the conceptart.org website. Apparently this sort of thing is quite common, just like the IGN watermark on the Wii Okami box art (seriously, you have to nab your own artwork back from a website to wack it on the box??) Photoshop blunders are /everywhere/.

 

Surely 5 is the thumb, and the thumb is actually the stick of the lollypop?

 

Curl your hand so as to hold a lollypop, only with your thumb further from you than the stick would be. Your hand would have to be like a paw, the thumb un-opposable to make it like the drawing.

I also went through the physical pain of proving the point. It was actually a bit surprising how painful it was to devolve.
