Any UI Artists or Engineers here?

Hi all,

I posted a question over at gamedev.net about UI pipelines, I would have posted here but I've been waiting 8 months for access :-(

As I posted there it seems that would be the best place to reply. If any of you work on front ends either as artists / designers or engineers I'd be very interested in finding out what has worked for you when it comes to producing screens, especially if you use Flash or Scaleform. I've had a variety of good and bad experiences.
