Babaroga LLC is looking for video game programmers willing to work on games that rock!

We have a contract position open to work on an iOS game in Unity. C# programming experience is necessary! This employment could possibly lead to full-time work down the line.

    Bonuses:
    C/C++
    Java
Previous experience in the games industry (not required)

    Compensation:
    DOE

    Contact:
    -Send CV/cover letter to dbachowski@babaroga.com
-A programming assessment test will also need to be completed. It can be found at www[dot]babaroga[dot]com/wanted[dot]php (i don't have enough posts to put a link in, so replace [dot] with an actual '.' )

Nice little test there, its good to see that, though these kind of things can be found on the net so be prepared to google and compare for lazy sids...
One thing though...why does your website say nothing about who you are...all this mythical character stuff is a total turn of to me, I want to know who you are and what kind of things you've done and who you've done them with?

Presumably this guy is an agent.

Our website contains a pretty extensive list of our previous projects. We have worked with EA, Microsoft, Disney and numerous other companies...

I am not in fact an agent. I have seen people here respond quite negatively to job posts, which I can understand up to a point. Obviously it is OK to be skeptical. However, I find that our website contains more than enough information to show we are legit, including links to the actual games that we have created.

To be fair, most of the job posts you can see here in the public forums are from recruiters spamming roles of dubious origin/quality, or fly-by-night operations wanting cheap/free labour. Inside, job postings are much better received.

That said, I had no trouble figuring out enough context for the business from the Babaroga website (easily Googled); heck, there's more info on it than there is on ours! Maybe Brian was looking at a different page?

Thank you. At least someone here makes me feel like I am not a snake :)

I understand the skepticism, no hard feelings if someone misinterprets my post...

not sceptism as such, just that if you want people to work for you I think we should know a bit more about who you are....the website bio for example
    tells me....nothing.

I can see you've written games, quite a lot and presumably been around a bit, but I'd love to know more about your work ethic than-

This kind of stuff is all very kiddie friendly and appealing to casual users of a website..but really, who are you? Where are you, what do you do, why do you do it, how many are you, what kind of work do you have in the pipeline...these are the kind of things prospective employees want to know.

Good point. I will pass this information along. We will be overhauling our website soon, so perhaps I can sneak some of this stuff in.

If anyone is wondering, I can answer some of these questions now:

Where: We are based in Chicago, IL and recently opened a new studio in London, UK (where I am working and looking for new employees)
What: Mobile software development (WP7, iOS, Android, J2ME, BREW)
    Why: Why not? :)
How Many: We are currently at around 20-30 employees
Pipeline: Currently I need a contractor for an iOS Unity-powered game. After that we have lots of WP7 work in the pipeline.

If it makes you feel any better, I first got my job programming at Babaroga with a craigslist posting that promised free candy, soda and money as compensation... so I think it has actually come a long way :)
