Basically this is about the new 360 SDK. It includes 1GB of RAM instead of the previous dev kit's 512 MB RAM. Why is this relevant? Because the old kit you had to test and debug in the 512 MB, and so you lost some RAM. The new kit has the extra ram for those features, so you can use every last drop of the 360's RAM for your game. This could mean as the article says 20-100 more MB usable RAM for 360. This is going to help the graphics, which already defeat the PS3 in multiplatform games, do so even more now. There's no way the PS3 can keep up with the RAM available for 360 after this update (the PS3 uses more RAM for OS, and also it's wasteful split RAM architecture).

Next according to this article the new dev kits also include the new X-Engine optimized for 360. To counter Sony's edge tools and get the most out of 360. I'd guess Forza 3 might already be using this. This just means in the future 360 games will begin to look even better.

Xbox 360's future looks bright through 2015.
