Anyone know more about this?
It seems Deep Red are behind it and TIGA have endorsed it.
A salesman comes round to your house to flog it to you and it looks like it costs £5K. It seems they "lend" you the fee.

They've managed to get some critical sites censored from Google UK so for the full picture search via Google.com not .co.uk.

Is the idea to get two lawsuits on the go at once, and somehow trick them into suing each other?

 

I think he's realised if you're an individual on the internet that gets sued by a company you instantly become the underdog and get loads of positive attention.

 

Or maybe that Train2Game is exactly what a game industry blog should be writing about.

 

Its a bit of a mixed bag as there are a number of companies involved here. There has been some criticism at TIGA (especially from Universities considering that Skillset exist for this) for backing a course that no-one has completed yet or even reached the final section of the course.

Apparently, there has been some input from other companies (Jagex and Rebellion were named at Wilson's GamesEdu 09 Keynote) and the actual guys behind T2G seem to be genuinely wanting to improve the course and the main source of actual complaints from students on the course stem from the advisers that are 'selling' the course that MIS supply AFAIK.

For me at least, its a wait and see game to what pops out the other side.

 

You should note that Sillytuna posts a follow up about a reply from Clive Roberts from Train2Game.

I sincerely hope that Train2Game manage to gain some ground, both in better Games education and reputation. Only time will tell.

Those sons of bitches have started advertising Train2Shite in the Curse fucking client.

(NB: Curse client is a client app for management and download of wow ui addons)

It said something about 'shortage of staff in the games industry'...yea with the companies that have gone under in the uk in the last 5 years and EA's 1.5k layoff, we're REALLY short on staff! (lulz).

Smells of epic desperation combined with twatishness to me. I'd avoid them like the plague.

 

If you get three in a row that are all the same colour, they disappear and more news stories fall from the top.

 

Train2Game really is a waste of space.

Every sale of it makes me sad inside, I've advised against people doing the coarse, and I shall do in the future.

Alot of the code work was done by a graduate, which just makes me chuckle, they eventually laid him off aswell. Poor guy struggled to find work for ages, eventually leaving the games industry.

 

Can you elaborate please? When you say code work, do you mean the course material/sample code?

 

I am unwilling to elaborate outside of private forums.
