You feel bitter or indignant about it? But, it's the only way they can try to verify your status!

 

I feel bitter and indignant generally. Those people that know me would more than vouch for my jaded personality.

 

I remember being slandered on that forum buy a couple bitter people that lost thier jobs. And decided that it was my fault. Which was not the case. After bending over backwards to help some people and having my hands tied behind my back buy upper managment. It didn't exactly feel great to be slandered like that. A lot of people took what they read on fatbabies with 'more' then a grain of salt. Which I was thankful for. And a lot of people could read between the lines when people tried to be basically evil. But I have to say. Sometimes people got exposed for basically being dicks. The biggest problem was that people could hide behind a handle and try to harm someone. I think its safe to say that everyone thats in the game industry has seen office drama. And it got broadcast on Fatbabies.

 

yeah there was some interesting stuff on fatbabies, indeed.
made me not apply to certain companies which seems one right decision when looking back at it now. i stopped reading the forums tho when some guy started flooding them with junk, apparently under different nicknames. sabotage! and i missed the endbattle, it seems.

another ... umm ... interesting ... place i visited regulary went down recently: vfxhell.com, not games related but a rumourmill for the movie biz - but then have you ever met a 3d artist who wouldn't throw his game job away in a heartbeat for the chance of working in movies?

now if only my membership here would get approved someday - preferrably before i leave the games industry.

 

There was one person I worked with who took great glee at being criticised on fatbabies! He'd often introduce himself to being "Hi, I'm XXX, you may have seen my name on fatbabies", it was like a badge of honour.

Sadly all of the negative comments about him on there were true and he was just as hated at at least his next two companies.

 

I get the feeling your talking about this guy that called himself edgar(spelling?). He or she? Used to spam that forum with everything he or she read in a magizine or something.
If you are. I don't know how someone that was so hated would not know this and actually admit it to people. He was a wealth of misinformation. Fatbabies could be sorta entertaining though at times.

 

Oh no no no. This is a person who didn't post but was often slaughtered by his colleagues for being a Grade A C**T! He knew what people said about him and enjoyed the "fame" he got from it.
