Anyway, as to the article itself, bit of an unfocused ramble you've got there.

Am I going to go there? Yes I am. If you're so hot shit at marketing, why haven't you got a marketing job?

 

OT: the white-space stripping of this forum is pretty annoying [don't know what i'm talking about? click 'preview post' and then look at what's happened in the editor]. I've found a workaround - [CTRL-A][CTRL-C] (copy all) before clicking preview, then paste it back into the editor.

Still, it is annoying.

That's not saying i'm defending eclectic. YOU SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST PUT SOME EFFORT IN, SUNSHINE.

Really? It's not very good, you know. A bit of blether about "the biggest marketing secret of ORL TIME" which turns out to be, "try to stand out from the crowd". Trenchant stuff there.

Have you read the forum rules? There isn't a rule on there about telling someone who is being annoying, who has just admitted that he's posting to annoy people, to shove off.

All I know is that this cabal you have in your head have a lot more right to be here than you do.

Is it not a sign of bad writing that people who should be interested just can't get through it?

No, it wasn't. And I'm not just being nasty, he told us this himself earlier:

 

This is where it gets confusing. Bruce says you need a great product and great marketing. So if Bruce's marketing is great, then the product is at fault. Which is Bruce's marketing. So if Bruce's marketing is crap as a product, then probably Bruce's marketing efforts to promote his marketing skills as a product are also crap.

Or we can just say that he's not really good.

 

I think the message Bruce is saying is that if you want to be an effective marketer, you need to know what is happening all around. The smallest insignificant detail by itself in seclusion could in fact really make the difference with a larger strategy.

The problem these days is that with efficiency and productivity at such the forefront of business, driven by the desire to reduce and mitigate costs and maximize profit, that you as a manager (or really anyone) trying to daily interact and network around learning, sharing and distributing information usually is seen as a low priority or at worst a time wasting exercise.

Not a bad article though I think.
